Intelligent Software Middle Agents for Mediation of incompatible Semantic Web Services
Project goals
Recently, the field of Web Services has gained focus in industry and academia mainly because Web Services standards provide means for integration and interoperation of diverse software systems. Web Services are software systems designed to support interoperable Machine to Machine interactions over a network. As the number of software systems available as Web Services grows, the interoperability issues of Web Services that need to cooperate are becoming important. Achieving interoperability of existing incompatible Web Services is a costly process including a lot of development and integration effort which is far from being automated. Newly emerging standards for Semantic Web Services, such as OWL-S, WSMO or WSDL-S, enrich existing Web Services standards with semantic annotations that facilitate automation of some interoperability related processes including flexible dynamic Web Services discovery, invocation and composition. However, these standards serve only as a necessary precondition for achievin

Project results evaluation
In the project ?Intelligent middle agents for mediation of Semantic Web Services? solved collaboratively with our US partner, the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University, we have developed innovative algorithms for identification and mediation of incompatibilities between Semantic Web Services systems. The project results will enable simplified interactions and integration of SWS based systems.
