    Phylogenetic diversity was analyzed in the contaminated soil from Lhenice. Pyrosequencing analysis of taxonomically-relevant genes was performed along with the analysis of functional genes essential for the degradation of biphenyl and PCB. Bacterial populations involved in degradation of xenobiotics were identified. Microbial analyses were supplemented with quantitative diversity analyses.
