    The Cenozoic represents a long-term global cooling from the Eocene-Oligocene greenhouse climate eventually to the Pleistocene icehouse climate. During this period, some important tectonic, climatic and biotic events occurred. Fossil vegetation is the most reliable indicator to reconstruct climatic changes and oscillation on land in Earth History.
