The role of plant hormones in cereals during abiotic stress processes
Project goals
The aim of the project is investigation of the impact of drought on hormonal metabolism (abscisic acid, cytokinin and auxin) in cereals, which will contribute to the understanding of mechanisms underlying the plant response to water deficit.

Project results evaluation
Winter wheat Emese responded to cold acclimation by elevation of auxin, but decrease of bioactive cytokinins, especially at low light conditions. Spring wheat (Nadro) had higher cytokinin levels, which made it more susceptible to subsequent frost damage.
