Hexaferrite-spinel intergrowth nanocomposite particles for cancer treatment using magnetic fluid hyperthermia.

Project goals

The aim of this project is development of the new magnetic nanocomposite particles containing the intergrowth of spinel and hexaferrite for application in magnetic hyperthermia based on complementary activities and experiences of both laboratories involved in the project. The Czech partner from the Institute of Physics, ASCR has considerable experiences with synthesis and characterization of different magnetic materials for magnetic hyperthermia. The Slovenian partners at the Department for Materials Synthesis, ?Jožef Stefan? Institute and at Faculty for Chemistry and Chemical Technology, University of Maribor are experienced in the synthesis of nanoparticles, in particular of spinels and hexaferrites using hydrothermal method.

Hexaferritové-spinelové vrstevnaté nanokompozitní částice pro léčbu nádorů magnetickou fluidní hypertermií

  • Annotation in Czech

Cílem tohoto projektu je vývoj nových magnetických nanopompozitních částic, tvořených srostlými fázemi spinelu a hexaferitu, pro aplikaci v magnetické hypertermii, založený na komplementárních aktivitách a zkušenostech obou pracovišť zahrnutých do projektu. Česká strana z Fyzikálního ústavu AVČR má bohaté zkušenosti s přípravou a charakterizací různých magnetických materiálů určených pro magnetickou hypertemii. Slovinští partneři z Katedry syntézy materiálů na Ústavu ?Jožefa Stefana? a z Fakulty chemiea chemické technologie na Univerzitě v Mariboru mají významné zkušenosti v přípravě nanočástic, zejména spinelů a hexaferitů pomocí hydrotermální metody.
