Hyperfibrinogemia and acquired dysfibrinogenemia.
Project goals
Characterization of functional properties of fibrinogen in selected groups of patients with elevated levels of fibrinogen. Introduction and verification of a method of testing the effects of the level and function of fibrinogen on the initial stages of fibrin formation and blood platelet adhesion. Selection of risk-patients with subsequent response in the anticoagulant therapy. Application of highly accurate and real time optical methods - surface plasmon resonance, atomic force microscopy, mass spectrometer MALDI-TOF (matrix assisted laser desorption ionizetion - time of flight).

Project name in Czech
Hyperfibrinogenémie a získaná dysfibrinogenémie.
Annotation in Czech
Charakterizace funkčních vlastností molekuly fibrinogenu u různých vybraných skupin hemato-okologických nemocných s hyperfibrinogenémií. Zavedení a ověření metodiky pro testování vlivu hladiny a funkce fibrinogenu na počáteční fázi tvorby fibrinu a na adhezi krevních destiček. Selekce rizikových pacientů s následnou odezvou ve změně intenzity antikoagulační terapie. Využití optických metod pracujících v reálném čase, surface plasmon resonance, atomic force microscopy a hmotnostní spektrometrie MALDI-TOF.

Project results evaluation
High fibrinogen in oncohematological patients affects platelet adhesion and predisposes to formation of fibrin(ogen) deposits. The finding of oxidative damage of fibrinogen in some patients is important since it considerably changes fibrin structure.
