Evaluation of lateralisation of nitric oxide mediator system in the hippocampus of people with schizophrenia and Alzheimer disease
Project goals
Expression and activity of nitric oxide synthases and concentrations of L-glutamate, L-arginine, L-citrulline, nitrites/nitrates will be determined in both hippocampi of people with schizophrenia, Alzheimer disease amd multi-infarct dementia Laterality of nitric mediator system will be evaluated in health people and compared with alterations in nondemented psychiatric and demented patients.

V pravém a levém hipokampu lidí se schizofrenií, Alzheimerovou nemocí a multi-infarktovou demencí bude stanovena exprese a aktivita jednotlivých syntáz oxidu dusnatého a koncentrace L-glutamátu, L-argininu, L-citrulinu, dusičnanů a dusitanů. Bude vyhodnocena lateralita mediátorového systému oxidu dusnatého u zdravých lidí a srovnána s odchylkami nedementních psychiatrických a dementních pacientů.
