New Methods for Determination of Neuroactive Steroids and Their Polar Conjugates in Human Tissues and Serum

Project goals

We intend to develop new high sensitive and selective methods for determination of neuroactive pregnanolone isomers by means of gass chromatgraphy with mass spectrometry (GC-MS) with new derivatization techniques. The new quick and sensitive method of direct analysis of neuroactive steroid conjugates by LC-MS without previous hydrolysis brings a tool for determination of the substances in diagnosis of diseases of central nervous system.

    Cílem projektu je vypracování nových vysoce citlivých a selektivních metodik stanovení neuroaktivních pregnanolonových izomerů pomocí GC-MS s využitím nových derivatizačních postupů s fluorformiáty s fluorovanými alkyly. Možnost přímého stanovení neuroaktivních steroidních konjugátů pomocí LC-MS bez předchozí hydrolýzy přinese výrazné urychlení a zpřesnění metodiky a otevře možnost využití těchto analýz v diagnostice onemocnění centrálního nervového systému.
