Analysis of QT dynamicity behaviour in relationship to the risk of sudden cardiac death

Project goals

Changes of cardiomyocytes repolarization, expressed by changes of QT interval duration, are related to an increased risk of malignant ventricular arrhythmias. A modern way to describe QT interval behaviour is QT dynamicity - QT/RR relationship. The project assess QT dynamicity in relationship to a risk of malignant ventricular arrhythmias and sudden death. The pacients with long QT syndrome and patients with ICD - survivors of sudden death - are used as control groups.

    Změny repolarizace kardiomyocytů, vyjádřené změnou trvání QT intervalu, jsou spojeny se zvýšeným rizikem maligních komorových arytmií. Moderním způsobem popisu chování QT intervalu je QT dynamicita - závislost QT intervalu na RR intervalu. Projekt hodnotí QT dynamicitu ve vztahu k riziku maligních komorových arytmií a náhlé smrti. Jako kontrolní soubory slouží pacienti se syndromem dlouhého QT intervalu a jedinci s ICD, kteří přežili náhlou smrt.

    The study showes the limitation of QT dynamicity as risk stratification test in different heart diseases. It seems likely that the time-dependant changes ant the influence of different factors can improve the prognostic predictive value of test.
