High Frequency Jet Ventilation in Extremely Premature Infants with Evolving Chronic Lung Disease.

Project goals

HFJV can improve oxygenation and ventilation in extremely premature infants with evolving CLD.The development of OI and PCO2 with ventilator parameters will be evaluate before and after the initiation of HFJV until the extubation. HFJV can facilitate theweaning and extubation in patients with CLD.The duration of HFJV until the extubation to n-CPAP and the failure of extubation will be evaluated. Multicentric randomized control trial is warranted in the field of mechanical ventilation and evolving CLD.The data from this pilot trial will help to determine the primary and secondary end points and calculate power analysis for intended MRCT.

  • Project name in Czech

Vysokofrekvenční trysková ventilace u extrémně nezralých novorozenců s rozvojem chronického plicního onemocnění.

  • Annotation in Czech

Získaná data umožní definovat cílové body studie a provést "power analysis".

V - Vynikající výsledky projektu (s mezinárodním významem atd.)

  • Project results evaluation

Compared with conventional or HFOV, HFJV used with optimal lung volume strategy appears to improve gas exchange and may facilitate weaning from mechanical ventilation in extremlely immature infants with evolving CLD.
