Contribution of 18-FDG PET/CT for diagnosis of vascular prosthesis infection

Project goals

The purpose of the project is to define and standardize the diagnostic hybrid PET/CT method in infectious complications in vascular surgery. The project will be a three year prospective study enrolling circa 120 patients, resp. prostheses.

    Main contribution of hybrid PET/CT for diagnostics of vascular prosthesis infection was proved in patients with low virulent infections. Most important manifestation was an increased focal uptake and presence of irritation around the infiltration.
