Electrophysiological correlates of emotional neurocircuits in depression, bipolar affective disorder and healthy population.
Project goals
The project aims to identify the electrophysiological correlates of negative emotional state, induced by autobiographic script, and their interrelationship with central serotoninergic activity in patients with depression, bipolar affective disorders and healthy subjects. The elucidation of neuronal processes associated with autobiographic induction of emotionally neutral and emotionally negative state (sadness) will be provided using the methods of quantitative electroencephalograhy (spectral frequency analysis, EEG cordance, low-resolution brain electromagnetic tomography). The expected outcomes of the project will significantly contribute to the clarification of neurobiological substrate underlying emotional processes and its changes in affective disorders and to the improvement and acceleration of mood disorders diagnosis with subsequent optimization of therapeutic strategies through the selection of appropriate treatment and early prediction of treatment response.

Projekt si klade za cíl identifikovat elektrofyziologické koreláty autobiograficky indukovaného negativního emočního stavu a jejich souvislost s centrální serotoninovou aktivitou u pacientů s depresí, bipolární afektivní poruchou a zdravé populace. Objasnění neuronálních procesů spojených s autobiografickou indukcí emočně neutrálního a emočně negativního stavu (smutek) bude realizováno pomocí metod kvantitativní elektroencefalografie (spektrální frekvenční analýza, EEG kordance, low-resolution brain electromagnetic tomography). Projekt svým řešením přispěje v oblasti basálního výzkumu k objasnění neurobiologického substrátu emočních procesů a jejich změn u afektivních poruch a v oblasti aplikovaného výzkumu, medicínsko-právní a socioekonomické ke zlepšení a urychlení diagnostiky afektivních poruch a k optimalizaci terapeutické strategie spočívající ve výběru nejvhodnějšího léčebného postupu a časném stanovení predikce odpovědi na léčbu.
