Climate change scenarios in high resolution for impact studies in agriculture

Project goals

In connection to attempts on regional climate modelling in high resolution of about 10km (project CECILIA, CLAVIER) the interest in impact studies arises, aiming different sectors of human activities, e.g. water management, agriculture, forestry, energysupply, transportation or tourism. First results in areas of more complex topography show that more realistic description of terrain in higher resolution can contribute to improvement of climate characteristics and thus to provide better basis for climate change impact analysis. Regarding the COST734 action dealing with climate change impacts in European agriculture this project aims to provide more detailed high resolution scenarios of climate change in Central Europe for agroclimatological studies.
