Development and application of MAbs-based luminescent ELISAs and flow immunoassays for the detection of organochlorine pesticide residues in foods

Project goals

The main aim of this project is to develop a set of high sensitive enzyme immunoassays to detect the presence of residues of organochlorine pesticides (DDT and endosulfan). Chromatographical techniques are generally regarded as the best techniques, nevertheless they involve laborious extraction, cleanup and derivatization to obtain the desired sensitivity. Although immunochemical technology cannot replace these techniques immunoassays are being demonstarted as an effective alternative or complementary method to the traditional ones for the routine analysis of pesticides because they are sensitive, rapid and inexpensive. Objectives of the proposed research: preparation of conjugates hapten-pesticide, raising of antibodies and their characterisation, development of enzyme immunoassays and their testing for agro-food sample detection.

    Cílem projektu je vyvinout enzymovou imunoanalýzu organochlorovaných pesticidů na bázi monoklonálních protilátek. Vyvinutá imunometoda by měla sloužit jako screeningová technika ke stanovení organochlorovaných pesticidů ve vzorcích potravin. Součástí řešení je tedy i vypracování vhodného extrakčního postupu isolace pesticidů z potravinové matrice.
