    The MOVPD project addressed the critical need to increase the resilience of airports and the Czech Armed Forces ability to carry out rapid repairs to runways (RWY) following an attack with conventional munitions, which is key to maintaining the country’s defense capabilities. The project evaluated the effects of conventional ground-attack tactical munitions on various airport surface compositions depending on the geological subsoil, using numerical simulations. The resulting study of material and technical/technological capabilities, as well as available existing industrial technical solutions, laid the groundwork for meeting the current and future needs of the Czech Armed Forces. The project also resulted in proposals for specific measures to repair airport surfaces based on standard conditions, the extent of damage, the type of structure, and the subsoil, including requirements for equipment and training.
