Optimalisation of the biomanipulative effect of predatory fish in ecosystems of water reservoirs.
Project goals
The project is aimed on reduction of eutrophistaion of surface waters by increasing of efficiency of top-down controll through the enhacement of predatory fish. We plan to improve technologies of egg incubation and culture of larval and juvenile predators (both mono- and polyculture). The survival of stocked fry will be studied with respect to their size and stocking strategy. The predation immediatelly after stocking will be studied. The attention will be paid to the ratio between abundance of stockedfish and the fish from natural reproduction. The population dynamics of predatory fish will be studied during five years on four reservoirs.

Project results evaluation
The project aim was to increase the efficiency of fish stocking management using predatory fish fry and to design a comprehensive technology for silver salmon breeding to be used in water reservoirs in which the original genetic sources are maintained. To propose an optimum strategy for stocking predatory fish fry. The project developed as planned.
