Increasing the effetiveness of integrated pest, disease and weed management in apples and pears via implementation of biological protection and supporting the biodiversity of orchard agroecosystems.

Project goals

The aim of the proposed project is to obtain the both theoretical and practical backgrounds for creation of the functional growing system in IPM and organic regimes. This system will play not only environmental in a landscape but it should be acceptablefrom an economic view. The orchard is understood as an agroecosystem with a number of relations among host plants, pests and predators and where not only direct control treatments are important. The strengthening of these relations coupled with the use of environment friendly control methods will result in a higher stability of orchard ecosystem with a lower use of a hard chemicals. As a result of all these attributes the production of the safe and top-quality fruit production is excepted. In addition the obtained results will be welcomed in IPM and they will enforce competitive strength of IPM production on the Czech and European market. In the framework of a project the following topics will be solved: direct biological control of the key pests, intr
