Development of the new plant protection methods of cereals and vegetables against to major pathogens and pests by using botanical pesticides for use in organic and integrated agriculture
Project goals
The main aim is to obtain a data precisely characterizing protection effect of the surveyed plant substances on economically important pests and pathogens of cereals and vegetable. Next task is to develop effective and in the terms of health harmless and in crop production praxis usable botanical pesticides and ensure its legal protection. Final task is to guarantee production of the discovered substances in collaboration with pesticides producers and so secure organic linkage of the research, primary production and utilizing of the research results in praxis.

Project name in Czech
Vývoj nových metod ochrany obilnin a zeleniny proti významným patogenům a škůdcům pomocí botanických pesticidů využitelných v ekologickém i integrovaném zemědělství

Project results evaluation
The aim of the project was to acquire new data precisely characterising the protective effects that the plant substances investigated have on economically important pests and cereal and vegetable pathogens, to develop and patent effective, safe and practically applicable botanical pesticides. The project has significantly helped to address plant protection issues in both organic and conventional farming. One major benefit is the reduction in the use of conventional pesticides, which were replaced by biological products developed as part of the project. 5 Jimp results, one Jrec and one Gfunk were achieved beyond the framework of the project. The plan was not fully achieved in that the patent has not been obtained (the registration has been filed, but no patent has yet been granted), nor have two utility samples, one of which is an offshoot of a patent not yet granted.
