Project results evaluation
In the course of investigation of the project, all the planned activities were implemented and the planned objectives were achieved. The project results, i.e. the assessment of the gene pool, mapping of biodiversity of market and non-market sweet cherry cultivars in the Czech Republic by molecular genetic and conventional methods and subsequent pilot plant testing, were accomplished. The achieved results are beneficial and constitute the basic platform especially for further research of sweet cherry gene pool, breeding new sweet cherry cultivars, but also for the use in tree nursery and fruit growing practice. Also, the experience gained may be used in research and assessment of the gene pool of other plant species. In total 3 planned results were not delivered during the project - 2x Jimp and 1x D.
