Treatment and care of people with Alzheimer's disease - economic burden in the context of the development of new drugs
Project goals
The aim of the project is to analyse the development of the number of people with Alzheimer's disease and the related needs for treatment and care in the Czech Republic with a focus on the Hradec Králové Region and the Vysočina Region. The direct and indirect costs, the need for formal caregivers, and other consequences to the 2050 will be specified. The model scenarios will take into account the possible development of new drugs for the individual stages of the disease and possible savings. The realization of the project will create the base for the conception of the regions, with the possibility of generalizing outputs for the Czech Republic. Due to the possibilities of different scenarios, the web application will be the output of the projects.

Cílem projektu je analýza vývoje počtu osob s Alzheimerovou chorobou a souvisejících potřeb na léčbu a péči v ČR se zaměřením na Královéhradecký kraj a kraj Vysočina. Specifikována bude výše přímých a nepřímých nákladů, potřebnost formálních pečovatelů, lůžek a další souvislosti s výhledem na rok 2050. V modelovaných scénářích bude brán ohled na možný vývoj nových léčiv pro jednotlivá stádia nemoci a z toho možné vyplývající úspory. Realizací projektu vzniknou podklady pro koncepce krajů, s možností generalizaci výstupů pro Českou republiku. Vzhledem k možnostem různých scénářů bude výstupem projektů webová aplikace umožňující nastavení různých parametrů a tím bude zajištěna dlouhodobější aktuálnost modelovaných scénářů.

The Board of Opponents agreed that the objectives and results of the project were achieved in accordance with the Grant Agreement. However, this is a project whose innovation potential has been recognized, but there seem to be reserves in its overall exhaustion. It is worth noting that, as the project was designed in terms of the rules of the first public tender, it would probably not be possible with the current knowledge of the applied research of socio-humanities - even with regard to the involvement of application partners in the project.
