Center of electron and photonic optics

Project goals

The Centre unifies all the key academic and industrial players in Czechia dealing with R&D and technology transfer in electron microscopy and lithography, optical microscopy and spectroscopy, laser and fiber technologies, optical and quantum metrology, ultraprecise optical manufacturing and sophisticated optical systems. Such a complementary synergy upgrades decades of partners’ experience and bilateral fruitful collaboration to a level where associated Czech research and industry approach worldwide leaders, create new positions and significantly increase added value of industrial production.

    A number of other collaborations were established, including between academia and industry at national and international levels. The benefit of the project is both in achieving unique results and in creating and stabilizing cooperation between 14 participants and other entities. Research and development activities were solved in 32 sub-projects, thematically they were combined into 8 professional and one administrative activity. The individual results achieved attest to the high level of expertise, novelty and uniqueness of the solution and demonstrate the fulfillment of the project's objectives. The results are suitable for immediate implementation with the potential for international application. The main goal of the Electron and Photon Optics Center was to strengthen the applied research of key domestic stakeholders in the field of electron and photon optics, coordinate their research activities and use the synergistic effect of planned research topics and unify research efforts.
