Comparison of measured rain intensity distributions with Rec. ITU-R P.837-2 and cumulative time distributions of attenuation due to hydrometeors at 19 GHz frequency band in the Czech Republic
Original language description
Cumulative rain rate distributions were obtained by the processing of rain records from 5 raingauges located in different parts of the Czech Republic. The obtained distributions are compared with the calculated ones according to ITU-R recommendation. Themeasured data of propagation experiment at 19 GHz frequency band and V polarisation on a 27.3 km long path were statistically processed. Cumulative time distributions of attenuation due to hydrometeors for the average year, the average season (from Mayto October), and the average worst month over 5 years of observation were obtained. The ITU-R testing procedure was used for the choice of the best method of calculation of cumulative distribution of attenuation from the cumulative distributions of measured rain rates for both the average worst month and the average season.
