    Electrochemical Visualization of Dactyloscopic Traces

    This study is focused on the visualization of fingerprints with electropolymerized poly(neutral red) (PNR) on metal surfaces including cartridges. Polymer film was prepared from 2 mM NR using cyclic voltammetry in phosphate buffer with 0.1M KNO3 on brass substrates in potential range −0.20–0.50 V (vs. Ag/AgCl) at a scan rate of 50 mV s−1 for 6–10 cycles. The morphology and structure of modified surfaces with fingerprints and PNR were studied. This perspective way to visualize latent fingerprints with observed details of the papillary lines could be applied for future in forensic practice.
