Prague, 23 October 2024 SPIRITKA – Ministry of the Interior Service Facility, Atletická 2352/11, Prague 6 On 23 October 2024, the international workshop “Possibilities of AI in the Forensic Field” was held at the ZSMV Spiritka facility. The event focused on the outcomes of the project “Development of Artificial Intelligence for a System of Multimodal Non-Destructive Forensic Material Analysis” (project ID: VK01010153), which is supported by the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic under the VK Programme – Open Calls in Security Research 2023–2029. The workshop was attended by 43 delegates from 11 countries (including Norway, the United Kingdom, Germany, Georgia, Lithuania, Romania, Hungary, and Poland). The workshop presented the rationale behind the implementation of AI in the forensic sector and outlined potential solutions. Organised in cooperation with Brno University of Technology, the event featured interim results from the above-mentioned project. Four expert lectures were delivered during the workshop: - Non-Destructive Testing in Technical Diagnostics - Possibilities of Forensic Analysis of Works of Art - Problems with Technologies That Generate Big Data in Forensic Analysis - AI Threats from a Cybersecurity Perspective, highlighting potential risks associated with AI implementation, particularly in the security domain. In addition, two practical demonstrations were conducted by Brno University of Technology: - AI in Forensic Soil Analysis - Digital Imaging and Analysis Techniques in Forensic Science
