Sparklers are used mainly during Christmas period, but often also during other celebrations. Sparklers burn at a very high temperature. The aim of the experiment was to find out whether burning sparklers or its flying sparks are able to ignite other objects in their vicinity. The paper presents conclusions from the experimental measurements focused on the surface temperature of sparklers and their potentiality to ignite other objects when glowing sparks shoot off in all directions or during the deposition of a burning sparkler.
