Advanced Stress Analysis
Original language description
New method of investigation of stress resolution is based on measurement of the thermoelastic effect - thermoelastic stress analysis (TSA). The technique is based on measurement of the thermoelastic effect. It represents volumetric changes of materials under load. When a material (solid or gas) is compressed or expanded its temperature changes. Within the elastic range, a body subjected to tensile or compressive stresses experiences a reversible conversion between mechanical and thermal forms of energy.Provided adiabatic conditions are maintained, the relationship between the reversible temperature change and the corresponding change in the sum of principal stresses is linear and independent of loading frequency.
