Life Extension of Fatigued Steel Specimens by Shot Peening
Result description
Shot peening can be used to improve fatigue properties of metal surface. A shot peening application on L-ROL steel was studied in the experiment. Depth profile of generated residual stresses was measured by X-ray diffraction. S-N curves of smooth specimens were assessed. Appropriate time for shot peening application on already loaded parts was estimated.

Czech description
Kuličkování zvyšuje únavové vlastnosti kovového povrchu. Aplikace kuličkování na ocel L-ROL je studována na experimentu. Hloubkový profil vytvořených zbytkových napětí je změřen rentgenovou difrakcí. Stanoveny jsou únavové křivky hladkých těles. Odhadnutje správný čas pro kuličkování již provozovaného dílu.
