Evaluation of Shearography and Ultrasonic NDI Results Measured during Long Term Composite Part Fatigue Test with Environmental Simulation
Original language description
The paper presents an evaluation and comparison of long term results from the non-destructive inspection of a structure by NDI techniques used during the long term fatigue test of a pressurized composite bulkhead as a primary structural part of the fuselage. The results based on shearography and special ultrasonic measurements are presented. The shearography method seems to be a more reliable, repeatable and rapid method for non-destructive inspection and disbond defects detection for a honeycomb type of the structure. NDI performed by shearography are dramatically time saving in comparison with special ultrasonic method.
