Comparison of CFD Methods Applied on Vilik Flying Model
Original language description
One of the tasks of the research project was to perform complete aerodynamic analysis on radio control model Vilik. For these purposes, extensive wind tunnel tests and computations with usage of panel and CFD methods have been performed. This article deals with the comparison of programmes Edge and Star CCM+ used for calculations. As results lift curves, moment and polar curves have been established, and consequently further aerodynamic characteristics for sideslip flight and regimes with various deflections of ailerons and tails have been analyzed. The results were used for simulation of a fully nonlinear mathematical model of aircraft motion, which was a significant task of the research project.
