The objective of the paper is a description of the fatigue test and an evaluation of its results, which were recently completed in VZLU on an innovated metal aircraft principal structure element ?the landing gear beam. This contribution addresses the overview of element design, fatigue calculation and verification of the test proposal. The main objectives are fatigue life evaluation, documentation of the test structure fatigue damages and comparison with crack growth analysis. The fatigue test, which included the crack growth monitoring test, revealed several critical points on the element and proved highly consistent with calculations.
