Methodology of simplified modelling of flaws as an input for the SHM software
Original language description
The methodology describes the simplified modelling by finite element method (FEM) of two types of flaws: production flaw – delamination or debonding, and in-service flaw – impact. The simplify, arbitrary FE flaws models were considered. The evaluated strain field modification induced by the models of flaw in loaded composites structures is validated by several experiment tests: tension, compression and bending specimens, three standard ASTM tests. Non-standard compression test was performed for the proposed typical aeroplane sub-structure (element). In the document is also described an example of application of the simplified modelling of flaws to the full-scale component and process of data selection of results as an input to the structural health monitoring (SHM) software which is based on the machine learning model. Internal report R-7502.
