Predictability of monthly precipitation and air temperature in Czechia based on selected large-scale climate pattern indices

  • Original language description

This is an abstract related to the contribution presented at the 28th General Assembly of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics. The presentation took place in Berlin, Germany on 12th July 2023. Cross-correlation analysis considering time lags was performed, incorporating gridded time series of monthly average air temperature and monthly precipitation totals on the territory of Czechia on one hand, and selected large-scale climate pattern indices on the other. Absolute values and significance of Spearman correlation coefficients were studied for all grid cells. Results suggest that there are regions in Czechia where air temperature and precipitation may be predicted based on monthly values of the indices. However, there may be quite long lead times necessary.
