Endogenous contents of phytohormones and phenylpropanoids in sessile oak somatic emryos in relation to their conversion potential

  • Original language description

Two types of sessile oak somatic embryos with well- developed ivory or green - coloured cotyledons and root apices differing in their development were examined for the endogenous contents of auxin(IAA), abcisic acid, cytokinins, polyamines, phenolic acids High conversion capacity was associated with slightly higher content of IAA, lower contentof ABA markedly increased level of free isopentenyladenine and zeatin and their ribosides, lower levels of free putrescine and its soluble conjugates, and higher content spermidine soluble conjugates, significantly lower content of total phenolic acids representedby sum of free, soluble ester- and glycoside-, and isoluble cell wall - bound phenolic acids as compared to the contents in nonconverting embryos. The high endogenous level of cytokinins may serve as good marker of developmental capability of sessile oak somatic embryos and the results indicate that the alterations in phenylpropanoid metabolism are closely related to further development o
