Original language description
For sustainable and multifunctional forest management at present, reasonable management rules conciliating public expectations and biological capacities of forest ecosystem are inevitable. Management rules are not only depend on nature conditions and human society demands, but they are influenced by regional (or local) specifics (policy, tradition, technical level etc.). In the Czech Republic, rules of sustainable forest management are prescribed by legislation. In accordance with the Forest Act (adopted in 1995), prevailing public demands on forest are expressed by classification of forests. Forests are divided into three classes - Protection forests, Special purpose forests and Commercial forests. In the interest of special forest management in protection and special purpose forests, it is possible to take measures different from some of the provisions of the Forest Act, especially in relation to the size or placement of clear cutting. placement of cl
