Aim of the presented paper is an assessment of amelioration effect of liming upon young beech (Fagus sylvatica) and maple (Acer pseudoplatanus) trees and some soil parameters in the course of the first 11 years after planting to the Jizerské hory Mts.Finely ground dolomitic limestone application (1 kg per 1 tree) influenced vitality of European beech and Sycamore maple plantations positively during the first six years after planting. Liming plantations showed bigger height increment for 34% in beech andfor 80% in maple in comparison with the control. In the next six years period (1999 x 2004), the positive effect of liming upon plantations has not been observed yet.

Czech description
Cílem příspěvku je vyhodnocení výsledku aplikace dolomitického vápence na výsadby buku lesního a javoru klenu na při obnově lesů na kalamitní holině v Jizerských horách. V průběhu 11 let po výsadbě a aplikaci vápence (1993 x 2004) se aplikace (1 kg na 1sazenici) projevovala pozitivně v prvních šesti letech (1993 x 1998), a to zvětšením výškového přírůstu o 34 % u buku a 80 % u klenu. V dalších letech (1999 x 2004) již ovlivnění výsadeb patrné nebylo.
