Effects of microsite conditions on the height growth of beech plantations
Original language description
Height growth of beech plantations under birch shelter was evaluated in the Krkonoše Mts. on the research plot Lesní bouda. Autochtonous beech was planted under young birch stand. Growth and health status of beech were negatively affected by severe siteconditions and repeated damages (snow, frost, rodents). Position of seedlings and weed influenced the height growth. Seedlings outplanted on the mounds and plains grew better than those in the holes. Some seedlings in the holes were negatively affected by water logging. Significant differences in seedling growth between both micro site positions and vegetation types were recorded only in the year 2005.

Czech description
Výškový růst výsadeb buku pod clonou přípravného porostu břízy byl sledován na výzkumné ploše Lesní bouda v hřebenové části Krkonoš. Růst a zdravotní stav buku negativně ovlivňují nepříznivé stanovištní podmínky. Výsadby jsou opakovaně poškozovány sněhem, mrazem a myšovitými. Sazenice rostoucí na vyvýšených místech nebo rovině mají vyšší výškový růst než výsadby ve sníženinách. Výsadby ve sníženinách a jamkách jsou často negativně ovlivňovány stagnující vodou. Statisticky významné rozdíly v růstu podlemikrostanovištních podmínek a vegetačním pokryvu byly zaznamenány pouze v roce 2005
