The paper contains the most important information on environment and forest stands in the Krušné hory Mts. and propositions for the future forest management in the region. Present species composition is a result of air pollution damage in history. The main objective of stands of substitute tree species cultivation is to create more favourable growing conditions for gradual regeneration of forest stands by target tree species more suitable to the ecology and management of the region.
