Ecological aspects of biomass removal in the localities damaged by air-pollution

  • Original language description

Presented chapter is based on long-term observation managed by Forestry and Game Management Research Institute in the Krušné hory Mts., Czech Republic. Results from three long-term experiments were used for the study. Experiments were established in substitute stands of common birch, blue spruce and European larch in 1989, 1996 and 1999, respectively. They consosts of partial plots with different thinning regimes but for our study, only control plots without thinning were used. In the frame uf presentedstudy we evaluate three parts of the biomass cycle - above-ground biomass, biomass of forest-floor and annual litter-fall.
