Original language description
Experiment Vitkov is one of the collection of the IUFRO European Stem Number Experiments in Norway spruce based on unified method, which started in 14 European countries in early 1970S. The experiment was established in 1971 and after more than 40 yearsof observation we can evaluate data about growth and development in differently thinned Norway spruce stands. Unlike the others, The Vitkov experiment was established in special conditions on former agricultural land. The contribution os focused on the main results of IUFRO experiment Vitkov in relation to forest management of spruce stands on former agricultural land and in regions with current spruce decline.
