International Cross-Comparison Course Crown Condition (Central Europe)
Original language description
The workshop was organized as a regular meeting of specialists in forest health assessment in the cooperative monitoring programme ICP Forests. The workshop was focused on crown condition assessment for tree species, which are common in the Central European region – Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris), oak (Quercus petraea and Quercus robur), Norway spruce (Picea abies), European beech (Fagus sylvatica), and white birch (Betula pendula). Defoliation, fruiting and damage causes were assessed on 10 monitoring plots in the region of south Moravia. Results were discussed and then provided to the Project coordination centre (PCC). Outputs from the meeting will serve as a base for the quality assurance and quality control in forest health monitoring at the European scale.
