Research Station at Opočno (established in 1951) is the Department of Silviculture in Forestry and Game Management Research Institute at Strnady. Silvicultural topics such as forest nurseries, afforestation, thinning, fiorest regeneration and also forest hydrology are solved in the station. Besides applied research activities (with publications or practical outputs), consultancy and expert services for forest owners and managers are traditionally realised by silvicultural researchers in different forest regions of the Czech Republic.
