Contribution is connected with poster, which was presented in the international IUFRO conference in Krakow, Poland. Information about current and historical share of silver fir in forest species composition in the Czech Republic were briefly showed. Introduction to starting research project about supporting of silver fir in forestry management was added. Contribution is also focused on project aims (in the frame of forest ecology, forest protection, seed control, silviculture, wood quality etc.) and planned outputs (scientific articles, forest guides etc.).
