Original language description
Pityophthorus traegardhi Spessivtsev, 1921. Moravia occ., Bohdalec env. (6562), 49°29ʹ06ʺN, 16°02ʹ17ʺE, 573 m a. s. l., 15.vii.2023, 1 spec., E. Kula lgt., M. Knížek det. et coll. Typical representative of taiga bark beetle species (Pfeffer 1995). In the Czech Republic it was first detected in 2005 in Lány (Januš 2016). From neighbouring countries is found in Poland, first collected in 1930 (Karpiński 1931), and Austria, first collected in 1975 (Holzschuh 1994). On the Bohdalec site, it was caught under poisoned spruce logs in a tripod trap baited with an IT-Ecolure pheromone dispenser and built on non-woven fabric. New species for Moravia.
