Biola Chelčice, in the Czech Republic, is an insitute specializing in the rearing of insectsand the production of viral preparations for use against both forest and orchard insects pets. In 1993 and 1994 a joint Canadian-Czech project was undertaken which was aimed at the transfer of Lymantria dispar virus production technology. The results of the project led to the registration of the viral insecticide Biolavirus-LD, as well development and testing of motodology for its aerial aplication. in subsequentyearsresear tifer has been developed and, curently, the productis in the final stages of registration
