Assessment of polluted sediments in canalised section of Czech Elbe river
Original language description
Paper presents the results of measurement of volumetric amount of sediments in the Czech section of Elbe river. The measurement concerns the cohesive sediments only seeing that the amount of unconsolidate new sediments (mobil fluid mud) cannot be assessed anyway due to the rapid changes of their state, i.e. they can be resuspended by slight changes of water velocity and thus their properties can be controlled together with suspended load only. The aim of the work was to assess the amount of selcted heavy metals, arsenic and total phosphorus in sediments. Thus, besides of the volume, the density of dry matter in sediments as related with humidity was determined.
