Research of the Czech Part of the international Elbe River
Original language description
Research within the framework of the Czech National Elbe Project (Elbe Project III, 1999-2002, financially support by Czech Ministry of the Environment) is presented: results of cyclic biomonitoring (every 3 years), fish habitat in the old river arms inthe floodplain area, fish passage, dynamics of contaminated sediment, including flood flows, modelling of the pollution cloud in the case of a pollution incident, the evaluation of the data from the IKSE monitoring stations (International Commission forthe Elbe River). The contribution presents the work of several organisations and of a large interdisciplinary team.
