Impact of NPP Temelín on the hydrosphere and residual contamination from Chernobyl accident
Original language description
The paper deals with the process and drinking water supply ensuring for the nuclear power plant Temelín and the process and drinking water quality. The nuclear power plant Temelín impacts to the nearby water resources and to the water environment are also assessed here. The risk of the recipient radioactive contamination due to the tritium water release is also discussed. As the assessment of the radioactive and nonradioactive substances concentrations in the Vltava River downstream of the waste water outflow shows, the nuclear power plant Temelín meets all the requirements given by the government decree nr. 61/2003 Sb. and the permit on water management 2004. The impact of nuclear power plant Temelín on the concentrations of any activation and fissionproducts in hydrosphere, excluding tritium, was not detected. The annual average tritium concentrations in the Vltava River correspond with the previously calculated prognosis for the conditions of the average and minimal guaranteed flow
