This publication is focused on possible reduction of the flood discharges on the Elbe, Vltava and Ohře Rivers by retention function of reservoirs with flood-control storage capacity in the Elbe River basin. Main reservoirs are on the Vltava and Ohře Rivers. The aim of this study was to examine effects of the reservoirs on the Elbe River below its confluences with the Vltava River and the Ohře River. After consideration of the potential reservoirs effect, Lipno, Orlík and Slapy Reservoirs on the Vltava River and Nechranice Reservoir on the Ohře River were taken into account. The basic goal was to assess the effect of the reservoirs on the Elbe River at Děčín. In addition, flood flows and their reduction by the reservoirs were assessed for the Vltava River at Prague, the Elbe at Mělník, the Ohře at Louny and the Elbe at Ústí nad Labem.

Publikace je zaměřena na odvození možného zmenšení povodňových průtoků na Labi, Vltavě a Ohři účinkem retenční funkce nádrží s rozhodujícím vymezeným retenčním prostorem v Povodí Labe. V povodí Labe v ČR se nacházejí rozhodující nádrže na Vltavě a na Ohři. Bylo třeba zjistit, jak se jejich vliv projevuje na vlastním toku Labe pod soutokem s Vltavou a pod soutokem s Ohří. Po zvážení reálného vlivu jednotlivých nádrží byl při řešení uvažován účinek nádrží Vltavské kaskády Lipno, Orlík a Slapy a nádrže Nechranice na Ohři. Základním cílem bylo posoudit vliv údolních nádrží na povodně na Labi v profilu Děčín. Zároveň byly posouzeny povodňové průtoky a míra jejich ovlivnění manipulacemi nádrží v profilech Vltava v Praze, Labe v Mělníku, Ohře v Lounech a Labev Ústí nad Labem.
