The impact of fish farming on microbial water quality of fishponds
Original language description
The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of application of pig manure, representing hygienic risks associated with the presence of feces in fishponds on microbial water quality. Faecal pollution of fishponds was monitored during 2006-2008 and wasbased on detection of bacterial faecal indicators before and after pig manure application. It was found that correct, reasonable and controlled manuring does not significantly decrease microbial water quality in fishponds.
