The Study of the Wastewater Treatment Constructed Wetlands Efficiency during a Non-Vegetation Period in the Czech Republic
Original language description
The stable treatment of the organic pollution (OP) and suspended solids (TSS) at the wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) under 500 P.E. and 500 ? 2000 P.E. (plus N-NH4) is requested during the whole year in the CR. The constructed wetlands (CW) are not anexception. The results of the monitoring and a treatment efficiency assessment are presented in the paper. The data were collected at CWs (150 ? 800 P.E.) monthly in 2000 - 2007. The monitored CWs have not statistically lower treatment efficiency duringthe non-vegetation period for the OP and TSS. Only for the N-NH4, there was confirmed significantly lower treatment efficiency during the period. The results validate that CWs are possible treatment plants for point-pollution sources under 500 P.E. andthey can be used for the category 500 ? 1000 P.E., but the stable N-Nh4 treatment efficiency must be ensure by another wastewater treatment technology.
